IntroThe cubs have set fourth from the home of the Old Bill walking the umbra in hopes of finding passage to Kroder’s Pass. Wise Garou do not walk the Umbra during the day, for the sun does not shine in the near spirit world. Fearing they would be lost, Grey Paw call forth a Raven spirit to be their guide. They have drawn close to the town, its spiritual presence marked by the power of the weaver and there guide has left them.
Day four Galliard’s Moon (evening)
This gets better and better. Finally made it to civilization again, though we had a few interesting adventures beforehand. Latest was running into a couple of odd guys, who turned out to be of the unusual type. Fighting against one another, before fighting something invisible. They gave us odd sausages, tasted nice, but let us see things differently. Only had something similar happen once before. Still, wadded in, the rest of the pack joined in and we managed to kill the monster the two odd guys were fighting.
Martin Price Dear diary, ill get around to actually buying you one day but first i need cash. anyway where were we? oh yes. we arrived in the town, if it can really be called that in the umbra? well while on the outskirts of town, Poledra saw something and ran off deeper into the umbra. i turned to make sure that we all were present but some where along the line Rena had wandered of, some pack we are unable to stick together even lost in the umbra. I left a sign for Rena, hoping that she would be able to use it to find us and took off with Marlow after Poledra and Grey Paw. we ran through the Umbran woods catching up with them just in time to see Grey Paw dive into a deep pool of water. not sure what is going on and trusting in our theurges knowledge of the umbra and followed him into the pool, only to emerge back in the real world deep in the Canadian woods with two kids fighting with wooden sticks, the scene seemed strange to me and i have no real idea what was going on, but it seems that one of the kids had some drugged food and we all ended up stuck in some weird hallucination that i wont repeat here. after coming down from the effects of the sausages.
Through the Umbra’s darkness the Raven had guided us to the edges of the human town where he bade us farewell. Before we could progress any further our howler took off as if she’d smelt a lost lamb. I looked around for the rest of the pack, they were with me, but the Ahroun was missing. Better to misplace one packmate than two, I set nose to trail and raced off after our dissappearing Galliard howling for the others to follow. The rising moon’s light silvered the ways around us as I reached a clearing where a superb stag stood by a large pool, just in time to see the Galliard’s tail slipping from sight beneath the silvery surface. With a howl I followed.
We found ourselves near the outskirts of town where Poledra was watching two unusual characters fighting each other with sticks. On my arrival the smaller of the two attempted to order me to join in the fight on his side, his words seemed to have some strength to them but I resisted. Once the two others had joined us, each in turn resisting the handsome combatants demands for assistance we settled down to watch their afray. In an unexpected twist they both turned to fight some imaginary foe with great verisimilitude. Their improvisation acting was such that they conveyed the impression that they were losing. Then one offered a bribe to us in return for aid, sausages, really you’d think they thought us to be from the shallowest end of the gene pool… and Marlow ate the sausages, clearly poisoned with some mind altering substance as he promptly claimed he could see their foe, some dire beast. A pack survives because of the ties that bind its members into a family, making short work of the remaining sausage, Marlow had eaten two, we found ourselves with the delightful task of having a savage monster to defeat. After sending it packing the two strange men seemed inclined to continue their alliance of conveniance and left, the talky one thanking us and promising his recognition of the debt they owed us.
Poledra. Grey paw called upon the Raven spirit to guide us through the Umbra to the town. Along the way I saw a majestic stag I followed it into the woods where it waited for me I took on my lupus form and the hunt was on. I chased it through the trees his scent strong, when I heard the cry of my pack brother calling to me. I replied with one howl which simply said hunt. I heard my brothers following me although I did not realise my sisters scent was missing so intent on the chase was I. The stag jumped through a lake without hesitation I followed, a little disorientated I came through the umbra next too two fae like creatures who appeared to be dueling with sticks one ordered me to help him he spoke in a way that felt like he had believed he had summoned me to him and I was his to control. I ignored his commands and watched curiously as Grey paw landed next to me. Shortly after Martin and Marlow followed. The creatures started fighting an invisible foe one asked us to help and offered sausages which Marl low ate and then told us what he could see grey paw also ate a sausage the two of them attacked the invisible for I then saw the stag in the bushes I believed he wanted help i remembered tghat the stag wasd the spirit of the fianna tribe, I also remembered that fae food had strange affects and that this invisible monster could be real so I ordered Martin to eat the sausage as I took a bite the monster appeared before me grey paw jumping in to bite it i noted the creatures now seemed to be probably armoured with real weapons even though their skill was still limited. I surged forward and attacked the monster. We drove the monster off, the stag seemed to thank me and I felt that I was now part of the fianna tribe.
Day Five Philidox Moon
Marlow, Poledra and i headed into town to sourse clothes for grey paw and begin investigating the kid and the worm taint. while in town we found Rena who had made contact with the local police and began looking around. we spend most of the money we had with us on some clothes for Grey Paw and with him with us we headed to where the boy lived. finding the child’s trail we followed it to the boy jim self playing in the cleared land behind his house. i am not proud of what we did next suffice it to say that after we spoke with him he will think twice before torturing birds any more. with the boy chastised we started to investigate the Wormtaint trailing the worm taint to the towns mine that has recently found uranium ore and been brought out by a large corporation. at the mine we decided that Marlow and i decided that the time had come to relive the child of his toy gun while Grey Paw, Rena, and Poledra decide how we are going to deal this this wyrm tainted nest. it seems far to secure for us three to simply charge in, and Grey paw fears that some group called the black spiral dancers may be involved. i dont know much about them, but i know they are a rave threat. while heading back down to the town Marlow and myself are confronted by a pack of wendigo werewolves who for some reason belive that Marlow had stolen from them. seeing an opportunity i howl out to my pack alerting them to the new threat and i hope causing the tainted onse to come and investigate, if these black spiral dancers are as dangerous as i think we will need the help of these wendigo wolves and the only way that they will help us is if something drastic and more threatening intervenes, god i hope this works.
Moving on to the town we decided that I would need clothes to be able to pass without notice amongst the humans here, who were too familiar with wolves to mistake me for a dog. The others headed on in whilst I waited for their return. During their absence I spotted a convoy of the larger vehicles, called trucks, heading out of town. One in particular caught my attention as it called to the new senses taught to me by Bear, stinking of the cruel corruption brought by the Wyrm.
In the meantime the others had met up with Rena and when we regrouped we decided to seek the young fool who had earned the ire of Raven. He wasn’t hard to find, playing around near a construction site. We confronted him there and remonstrated him on his bad behaviour. I found it strange how he could not see that we were quite capable of making him regret his foolishness, humans truly are deaf, blind and without smell.
After he fled from us to his parents, we retreated to the woods where I shed this awkward form and found my own fur much more to my comfort. From there we headed off along the road to find the source of the stench I’d detected. Above the town in the snow covered hills a giant rent had been torn from Gaia, dark filth filled her and humans crawled around like ants. The boards with glyphs spoke of Uranium and forbade any approach. From a high vantage point we looked down and could see many guards so we decided to wait for dark and a more opportune moment to investigate. Then Marlow decided to go back and complete our chiminage to the Raven, showing an unusual degree of presence of mind; obviously his wolf half influencing him. He left with Poledra and they headed back to town. Not long after we heard a howl from Poledra, they had been intercepted and a Glaive duel was underway!
After that, we managed to enter the town, though we didnt have much money. We managed to get some cloths for those of us who were in the nuddy, but that didnt leave us with enough to satisfy the others. We still had to deal with the kid our raven guide pointed out, but I think the plan of leaving a dead bird in his bedroom and leaving the remaining special sausages for the family would go down much better than directly trying to get to him. Cant write much now though, as I’ve had to formally challenge a garoucidal maniac who believes I am a wyrmtainted theif. Cant deny the theif, but I am in no way wormtainted. Still, first chance to use my swordsman school. I just hope I can do Teach justice…
Poledra. Martin, Marlow, and Myself switched to human form headed into town to find clothes for grey paw with the small amount of money that were bear had given us. In town we found our sister talking to the sheriff who did not seem to like us very much, we managed to get grey paw some trousers and a small amount of food we took this back to grey paw. Martin lent him his jacket as he did not have any shoes he would still standout but at least he would not be jailed for public indecency. We found the boys house, I partially transfgormedc my face to get a good smell oif the area sand found the point which the child entered and letf his house by climbing over a fence leaving a trail of a path well travelled towards a constriction site. I turned my face back and we walked that way we came across the boy and tried to teach him the error of his waste I don’t think he will ever see as we do but they managed to scare him enough that I think he will not be shooting birds for pleasure for a while. Now all that’s left is to destroy his gun.
